About My Classes
Regular kids and adult classes are approximately 45 minutes to one hour long and $15 for kids classes, and $20 for adult classes. All materials (up to 5lbs of clay, $1/lb after the first 5lb) and firings are included in the class fee. Beginning wheel classes are $30.
Please note that while we can “finish” a project in one hour, your project will need to be dried, fired, then painted again in another class session for an additional class fee. This process takes 2-3 weeks. Any questions about this process can be discussed with your instructor at class time, or feel free to contact me for more information.
Arrangements will need to be made for pick-up if you decide not to complete your project and sign up for future classes. Projects will be kept for 3 months, and unless other arrangements are made, will be discarded or used for demonstration purposes. Sorry, but space in the studio is limited.
Cancellation Policy
As a courtesy to other students and your instructor, please give at least 24 hours notice when canceling a class registration. No refunds will be given if you cancel your registration with less than 24 hour notice, and future registration may be revoked at the discretion of the instructor. Registration will be closed for open seats 24 hours prior to class time.
Private Parties
One hour Birthday/Private parties are $150 for up to 8 people, with additional guests $15 per person. Each member may opt for the instructor to finish their project in one color of their choosing, or return for a single class to paint their own piece. Price also includes a custom frame, signed by all guests. Call to (317) 721-1393 to schedule.
Private Classes
Private classes for one are available for $75/hour. Email jodi@getdirtyceramics.com for more info/scheduling of private sessions.
Kids Classes
The class will be led in a structured project, chosen by the instructor. Projects vary and are catered to various skill levels. Register for a kid’s class if anyone in your group is under the age of eighteen. Adults are encouraged to register and participate with younger class members. You may also register for a kid’s session to paint a completed project.
Adult Classes
Adult classes are age eighteen and up only. Beginners may make a group led project, or those with experience may work independently with a thoughtful idea. Please have a sketch and any templates ready to go at class time. You may register for an adult session to paint a completed project.
Advanced Wheel Classes
Register for these spots if you have previous experience on the pottery wheel, and can center your own clay. Limited instruction will be provided. This class cannot be used to paint a finished project.
Beginner Pottery Wheel
This class is for beginners and limited to four students. Suggested age is eight and up. Each will have their own wheel to work on after a demonstration from the instructor. Please make arrangements to pre-pay or your registration will be cancelled. Registration for beginning wheel classes opens up one month prior to the class date.
All Ages Painting and Wheel
If you have already completed a project that needs to be painted, and want a basic wheel experience, this class is for you. The instructor will take turns with class members, each getting 5-10 minutes on the wheel to throw a pot, as you complete painting your finished work. You may choose a single color for your thrown pot to be finished in, and it will be available for pick up in 3-4 weeks.
